Flueckiger and Bloechlinger claim solo victories at the Tamaro Trophy

The Škoda Swiss Bike Cup 2026 kicked off with the Tamaro Trophy. On the technically demanding course at Monte Ceneri, Matthias Flueckiger and Ronja Bloechlinger secured dominant victories in the elite races.

March 22, 2026

In the men’s elite race, Matthias Flueckiger (Thoemus Maxon) moved into the lead early on and never relinquished it. The rider from Bern took control as early as the second lap and managed the race with authority. “It was one of my best races in a long time, and it’s great to start the season like this. I felt really good and had strong legs today,” said Flueckiger.

Finn Treudler (Cube Factory Racing) provided some excitement. Competing in his first elite season, the young Swiss rider delivered a strong performance. He positioned himself in the chasing group and applied pressure to Flueckiger in the closing stages, but was unable to close the gap. However, he managed to pull away from world number one Fabio Puentener (Scott-Sram MTB Racing) to secure second place ahead of him. Local favourite Filippo Colombo (Scott-Sram MTB Racing) finished sixth.

Bloechlinger takes early lead
Like Flueckiger, Ronja Bloechlinger (Liv Factory Racing) dominated the women’s elite race from the front. After her rival Martina Berta (Origine Racing Division) was set back by a mechanical issue, Bloechlinger was never challenged. She steadily increased her lead and claimed a commanding victory. “It feels great to start the season like this. Suddenly I found myself alone at the front and just rode my race. I felt good before the race, I was happy and knew it would be a strong performance,” said Bloechlinger.

Behind her, Nicole Koller (Lapierre PXR Racing) secured second place, finishing 58 seconds ahead of Berta.

Hutter impresses at season opener
In the women’s U23 category, Anina Hutter (NEXETIS) claimed a convincing win, ahead of Elina Benoit (Lexware Mountainbike Team) in second and Katrin Embacher (KTM Factory MTB Team) in third.

The victory in the U19 women’s race was even more dominant, with Anja Grossmann (Trinity Racing) winning by a large margin ahead of Eva Terpin (Slovenian National Team) and Tess De Almeida (ARSA Racing Team), taking the UCI Junior Series win.

The U19 and U23 men’s races were dominated by French riders. Noa Tessier (National Team France U19) won the U19 race solo, followed by Mathieu Ghibaudo and Elias Hueckmann. In the U23 category, Nael Rouffiac (Origine Racing Division) took victory ahead of Paul Schehl (Lexware Mountainbike Team) and Elian Paccagnella (Wilier Vittoria Factory Team).

GP Osterhas returns to the calendar
For the second time since 2025, the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup will be part of the traditional GP Osterhas criterium races. Although the races on 4 April do not count towards the overall standings, they promise plenty of excitement and focus on the athletes’ all-round cycling development.
