The inaugural edition of the dedicated Škoda Swiss Bike Cup Kids Champion event in Moléson-sur-Gruyères proved to be a resounding success. Under sunny summer conditions and surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop, the young riders delivered exciting races and created a fantastic atmosphere around the compact course in the canton of Fribourg. One of the standout moments for local cycling fans came in the U17 boys’ race. Home rider Aubin Favre (Team Chiffelle / O2 MTB) lived up to expectations and claimed a commanding victory in front of his home crowd. The reigning U17 European Champion made his decisive move on the third lap and crossed the finish line 43 seconds ahead of Joris Kübler (RRC Amt). Diego Imhof (RC Gränichen) completed the podium in third place. “It’s incredible to win the first race here in Moléson. There were so many people along the course that I knew, which gave me even more motivation,” said Favre after his first home race.

Breitler Dominates in the U17 Girls’ Race

The U17 girls’ race was also decided in convincing fashion. Lena Breitler (VTT Balcon du Jura) secured victory ahead of Lina Baldauf (Lexware Mountainbike Team) and Milla Oehler (Zubi - VC Eschenbach). In the U15 boys’ category, Fynn Stebler (RV Wetzikon) edged out his teammate Kilian Kleiner in a close finish, while Ronja Stalder (RC Gränichen) claimed a dominant victory in the U15 girls’ race.

The Škoda Swiss Bike Cup continues on May 30 and 31 in Savognin, where the next cross-country races of the series will take place in the mountains of Graubünden.
